Everything you need to know about getting started at Shaker Rocks
Do I need experience to take a climbing class?
No experience is needed! Our staff will help guide you through the process. All levels of experience are welcome at Shaker Rocks!
What should I wear?
Rock climbing is an inherently risky activity, but beginners can get started in a controlled environment with proper instruction, equipment, and guidance. At Shaker Rocks, we provide orientations and staff support to help new climbers get on the wall.
Do I need my own gear?
We suggest bringing comfortable clothes to move around in and water. Everything else, we have available at the gym.
Are classes available for kids?
Rock climbing is a great workout for both your body and mind. It builds strength, balance, and endurance while also challenging you to problem-solve, stay focused, and think strategically. Every climb is both a physical and mental challenge, making it a fun and rewarding way to stay active.
Which class should I start with?
All ages are welcome at Shaker Rocks. We even have classes for ages 3 and up.
